Click! Edmonds Photo Marathon a Chance for Photogs to Get Creative

You'll have six hours to take shots on six themes.

It's time to start thinking about taking pictures in Edmonds, as the date for the annual Edmonds Photo Marathon has been announced.

The Rotary Club of Edmonds is once again sponsoring this photo scavenger hunt of sorts. Proceeds from the $30 entry fee will go towards various charities sponsored by the club, as well as their scholarship program.

Here’s how it works: Participants will meet at the Spanish Club Café (111 W. Dayton St.) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Six themes will be announced, and competitors then have six hours to interpret the themes creatively and capture them with a digital camera.

For example, last year's themes were "smile," "glee," "three," "that's how we do it," "now I get it" and "rough around the edges." See the 2011 winners.

All phots must be taken in Edmonds, and no prior photos will be accepted.

Competitors are allowed to shoot as many photos as they like, but they can only submit one photograph per category. A panel of judges will award prizes and recognition for each theme.
