Edmonds Off-Leash Dog Park Gets Obstacle Course Thanks to Eagle Project

Alex Young and crew complete construction over the weekend.

Who doesn't love an obstacle course?

The at Marina Beach now has such a feature and, as you can guess, it's for dogs only. (We have a feeling that some adventurous kids will be testing themselves on it as well.)

The obstacle course, constructed this weekend, comes from a Boy Scouts Eagle Project by Kamiak High School junior Alex Young of Troop 312. Attaining an Eagle Scout is the highest rank possible in Boy Scouts.

Young, along with a few of his fellow scouts, installed an agility obstacle course that he designed and built for the popular dog park, which is run by the nonprofit Off-Leash Area Edmonds (OLAE). Young built three jumps, a set of weave poles, and an A-frame ramp.

Sponsoring organizations for this project included the OLAE  and the City of Edmonds Parks and Recreation Department. Hot drinks were donated by the Starbucks on Main Street and doughnuts by the Edmonds QFC.
