Ski Report: Time to See Those Snow Dances

Most areas will see at least a couple of inches on Saturday, with more snow expected on Presidents Day.

The good news: Snow is in the weekend forecast for almost every Western Washington ski area.

The bad news: Most resorts are expected to get just a couple of inches—not nearly enough to satiate a yearning powder apetite caused by plenty of dry weather over the past several weeks.

But things look somewhat promising at higher elevations, especially on Saturday and for the Presidents Day holiday on Monday. And who knows? A spirited snow dance may end up being all that's required for a good time at the mountain this weekend.

Summit at Snoqualmie: Rain likely today, followed by a 20 percent chance of snow Friday night. Chance of precipitation will be 60 percent Saturday, with the snow level starting at 4,800 feet and lowering to 3,700 feet. More snow possible overnight on Saturday. Daytime highs in the upper-30s. (Complete forecast here.)

Crystal Mountain: Crystal says it's snowing right now on the mountain, and more is on the way. The weekend forecast calls for mostly sunny weather Friday, then 1 to 3 inches of snow Saturday and another inch overnight into Sunday. Snow is also likely for the Monday holiday. High temperatures in the upper-20s. (Complete forecast here.)

Stevens Pass: Snow likely on Saturday, with 1 to 3 inches expected. More snow expected on Monday. High temperatures right around freezing. (Complete forecast here.)

Mt. Baker Ski Area: Total of 2 to 4 inches in the forecast for Saturday, followed by a 30 percent chance of snow on Sunday. Daytime highs in the low 30s. (Complete forecast here.)

White Pass Ski Area: Mostly sunny Friday, then rain is expected overnight into Friday. The precipitation should turn to snow by 10 a.m. Saturday, with 1 to 2 inches of possible accumulation. Chance of snow on Sunday, and snow likely for Monday. (Complete forecast here.)

Mission Ridge: Sunny skies on Friday will become overcast overnight into Saturday. A 40 percent chance of snow for Saturday, followed by sunny skies on Sunday. A free companion rescue class will be held Saturday. (Complete forecast here.)
