Do you have what it takes to play a high level of soccer?
Here's your chance: The North Sound SeaWolves FC will host an open tryout from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 18 at Edmonds Stadium on the campus of Edmonds-Woodway High School, 7600 212th St. SW.
The tryout is open to legal residents of the United States who are 16 or older. Registration forms are available on the club’s Web site. The cost is $32. Registration at the field will be $50.
Players are asked to arrive at the stadium at 9 a.m. and must provide their own gear, including a white T-shirt. The team will furnish water.
The SeaWolves play in the Premier Development League, the highest level of amateur soccer in the United States. They play home games at Frank Goddard Memorial Stadium at Mariner High School in Everett.
“The PDL is the best place for young players to showcase for Major League Soccer and other leagues,” SeaWolves owner/coach Alex Silva said. “We would like to find talented players and develop them to get to the next level.”
In 2011 the expansion SeaWolves went 4-6-4 and finished sixth in the Northwest Division of the PDL. In a tryout last March, the club had 140 potential players turn out, and Silva hopes for a similar pool of players this year.
“I would like to see players who are hungry for the game, who have a goal, work well with teammates,” Silva said. “We want to create a great environment where players want to play.”
