Edmonds-Woodway Wins 1st Playoff Game, 29-19, Advances to State

Warriors beat South Kitsap in game once again dominated by running back Desmond Young. Top-ranked Bellarmine Prep awaits.

Edmonds-Woodway beat South Kitsap in an opening round game of the playoffs on Friday.

Desmond Young had another strong game for the Warriors, who are now 6-4. Young gained 275 yards on 32 carries, scoring on touchdown runs of 1 and 41 yards.

Mark Coutte added 71 yards on 14 carries. He scored on a 2-yard run. Quarterback Davis also scored a touchdown from one yard out.

The Warriors led 14-13 at the half and 22-19 after three quarters.

E-W's next game is at top-ranked Bellarmine Prep. The team from Tacoma is 10-0.
