When Does School Start in Edmonds?

It's time to start thinking about going back to school if you're a student, parent or guardian. Are you ready?

School is fast approaching, even before summer seems to really have begun. Here are some things to know if you have students in school in Edmonds, or if you are a student yourself.

All schools in the Edmonds School District—which serves Edmonds, Woodway, Brier, Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood and portions of unincorporated Snohomish County—will begin Wednesday, Sept. 5. Edmonds Community College begins Sept. 24.

High school football begins Wednesday. Middle school fall sports begin Sept. 6.

Winter break is Dec. 24-Jan. 4, and spring break is April 1-5. The last day of school is June 18, unless snow make-up days are needed.

This year, the Edmonds School District debuts the , to be based at Mountlake Terrace High. It is open to all incoming 9th-grade students in the district.

Elementary schools in Edmonds include Chase Lake, College Place, Edmonds, Seaview, Sherwood and Westgate.

K-8 schools are Madrona and Maplewood, while middle schools serving Edmonds are College Place and Meadowdale.

K-12 schools are Edmonds Heights and Maplewood Center.

In addition to Edmonds-Woodway, high schools serving Edmonds students are Scriber Lake, Meadowdale and Edmonds eLearning.
