Shuffle, Swing and Boogie at EWHS

Join local jazz bands for a night of big band music and help raise money for the EWHS Jazz Program.

Grab your poodle skirt and saddle shoes, and head over to tonight for an evening of live music, dancing and dessert. The annual Big Band Swing Dance is happening tonight, and all are welcome to attend this family-friendly event.

“It's our annual Music Boosters Big Band Dance, and it features two of our jazz ensembles and three middle school jazz bands,” said Jake Bergevin, the EWHS Band Director. “My children and parents have come in the past and enjoyed themselves.”

Whether you're in high school, or long-graduated, the night guarantees to be a fun event for all who attend. Show up at 6:30 p.m. and receive a free dance lesson from Kevin Buster, a dancer and jazz musician from “Dance It.” The music starts at 7:00 p.m. and features EWHS Jazz Ensembles 1 & 2 plus special guests College Place Middle School, Madrona & Maplewood Jazz Bands. Songs will include hits from 1930’s through the 1960’s from artists such as Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller.
