Local students receive Sno-King School Retirees Scholarships

Four local high school seniors, including one Edmonds School District student, received scholarships to pursue careers in education.

Four local outstanding students dedicated to pursuing careers in education were recently rewarded scholarships from the Sno-King School Retirees, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting public education and good citizenship within the community. Members include retired and active teachers, administrators and support service personnel.

According to information provided by SKSR member James Siscel, the scholarships are for $1200, and are renewable for up to four years. The recipients of the awards are Colleen Hill from Lynwood High School, Sorcha Connor-Boyle from Shorewood High School, Timothy Lee from Shorecrest High School, and Vincent Pham from Woodinville High School.

Each student has shown tremendous leadership skills throughout their high school career, and set noteworthy examples in the community service sector through after school and summer volunteer work.
