Edmonds-Woodway Beats Cascade; Meadowdale Remains Undefeated
Warriors improve to 4-3 with fourth win in a row, while Meadowdale wins 35-0 to go to 7-0.
The Edmonds-Woodway High School football team continued its offensive splurge of late with a 35-0 nonconference win over Cascade of Everett Friday at Everett Memorial Stadium.
The Warriors improved to 4-3 with its fourth straight win in a game they were expected to win over the winless Bruins, who fell to 0-7. The Warriors (4-0, 4-3), who last week clinced the Wesco South 4A title with a , have now won four straight games after three losses to open the season.
In Friday's game, sophomore quarterback Davis Giles (8-15, 158 yards) threw three touchdown passes, two to junior Alex Hull and a 52-yarder to senior Spiral Horn. Sophomore Mac McLachlan also scored on a 1-yard run. Junior running back Desmond Young led E-W with 125 yards rushing.

Coach John Gradwohl and the Warriors next week will play another nonconfernce game, against Redmond. The game, at 5 p.m. on Oct. 21, is the Warriors' homecoming game, as well as the last regular season game. It will be played at Edmonds Stadium. Redmond is also winless, as the Mustangs were 0-6 going into Friday's game.
The Warriors' first playoff game, against undefeated Wesco North champs Lake Stevens (4-0, 7-0), will also be played at Edmonds Stadium.

The Meadowdale Mavericks, meanwhile, beat the Everett Seagulls by the same score as E-W, 35-0, on Friday at Edmonds Stadium to remain undefeated at 7-0. Giavani Shepard led the Mavs with 182 yards on 26 carries, scoring twice. Kyler Larson scored on a 31-yard run and 50-yard pass from quarterback Brian Marty. Kyle Newsom also scored on a run from 5 yards.
The Wesco South 3A team, coached by Mark Stewart, plays an away game Oct. 21 vs. Lynnwood.
