Edmonds-Woodway Out of Playoffs With 42-7 Loss to Bellarmine Prep
Warriors football team finishes season 6-5.
The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors saw their season end with a 42-7 loss to No. 1-ranked Bellarmine Prep (11-0) Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
The Warriors finished the season 6-5 after losing their first three games. Coach Gradwohl's team won the Wesco 4A South Division championship after winning five games in a row, but lost the Wesco 4A Division overall championship to Lake Stevens.
Last week, the Warriors beat South Kitsap 29-19 in their first playoff game.

On Saturday, E-W was overmatched from the start, punting on their first three possessions and fumbling on their fourth, which lead to a Bellarmine Prep touchdown.
On Saturday, the Lions, coached by Thomas Larsen, scored first on a 10-yard run by junior quarterback Sefo Liufau after E-W punted deep in their own territory to start the game. Later in the quarter, the 6'3" Liufau scored on a 1-yard run.

In the second quarter, Bellarmine Prep scored on a 2-yard run by Isaiah Flynn and a 45-yard pass from Liufau to wide receiver Michael Rector, who will be playing at the University of Washington next year. By the end of the half it was 35-0.
In the second half, the Lions scored once in the third to extend the lead to 42-0.
E-W running back Matt Cuzzetto provided some scoring for the Warriors in fourth, rumbling in for a TD and cutting the lead to 42-7, which would stand as the final score.
