E-W Football Coach John Gradwohl to be Back for Next Season

He will also be the gym teacher at Westgate Elementary in Edmonds.

On April 30, Edmonds Patch reported that Edmonds-Woodway High School coach John Gradwohl's tenure at the school was in jeopardy.

Now, according to Gradwohl's wife, Margie, we've learned that the coach will indeed be returning the coach the football team this fall.

According to Margie Gradwhol's post at the "Keep John Gradwohl" at EWHS Facebook page:

John will be teaching at Westgate Elementary and EWHS next year. The best news is that thanks to all your support the district made sure that John will start his day at Westgate and end his day at EWHS so he can continue to coach football.

Gradwohl's new duties at Westgate Elementary in Edmonds is part of a due to declining enrollment at the school.

This is good news for everyone and I love that his wife is so supportive and it feels like the community really played a part in his keeping his job. I just love hearing about the times when people speak up and come together. It seems like in this case the community coming together help the district make this work. It is the way a community is supposed to work and I am proud see that ours does!
