All-Wesco Teams Announced, E-W Baseball Leads the Way

The 4A All-Wesco teams have been announced and Edmonds-Woodway had a strong showing in the south division.

The All-Wesco spring sports teams have been announced, and Edmonds-Woodway had a strong showing in the south division. The Warriors baseball team led the picks.

Edmonds-Woodway had seven total players represented on the all-league baseball team, including four on the first team, from a squad that advanced to the second round of the 4A baseball tournament.

Austin Jones led the first team, along with sophomore infielder Alex Hull, junior infielder Ben Roquet and senior Derek Callahan, who was selected as both a pitcher and an outfielder.

Junior infielder Patrick Bernard was selected for the second team, as was junior outfielder Ryan Budnick and freshman outfielder Tate Budnick.

The boys soccer team was also well-represented, placing five total members on the 4A south division teams. Senior forward Fareed Zerafat was named a first-team selection, while sophomore defender Alex Sakoi, junior defender Sean Haldeman, senior goalkeeper Erik Whitney and senior midfielder Zach Sakoi all made the second team.

Girls softball had four representatives on the All-Wesco South Division second team. Junior infielder Sydney Daniel, sophomore designated player Katelynn Lafferty, senior outfielder Kristin Hayes and senior outfielder Mia Webster were all selected for the second team.

Girls tennis doubles pair Sarah Fine and Sophie Roben were selected to the girls tennis all-league team.
