Edmonds-Woodway, Meadowdale Look to Extend Winning Streaks

The Warriors host Redmond for its annual homecoming game. Meadowdale is playing against Lynnwood.

Edmonds-Woodway started the season with three loses, but since then have won four games in a row, including last week’s 35-0 shutout of winless Cascade of Everett. The Warriors are the WesCo 4A South Division champs, and tonight’s nonconference game doesn’t mean much against another winless team, Redmond, which is 0-7.

The Warriors are lead by running backs Desmond Young and Mark Coutee, who combined have rushed for 1,326 yard on 172 carries, an average of 7.7 yards per carry. The Warriors’ quarterback is Davis Giles.

Tonight's contest is E-W's homecoming game.

 

What: Meadowdale vs. Lynnwood

Where: Edmonds Stadium, Edmonds-Woodway High School

When: 8 p.m.

The undefeated Meadowdale Mavericks (7-0) are tied with Oak Harbor atop the standings of the Wesco 3A conference, and both have conference records of 6-0. Tonight, the fifth-ranked Mavericks will face the Royals (1-6) in an important conference game as the Mavs seek to keep their position atop the division.

Meadowdale is led by quarterback Brian Marty and running back Giavani  Shepard, who has rushed for 768 yards on 98 carries, scoring 17 touchdowns.
