9-Day Weekend: School Canceled Again

Last day of school was Jan. 13

It's a long, long weekend for some kids in the Emonds School District, which has canceled classes for Friday, the third day in a row.

For some, it's now a nine-day weekend. Students at Edmonds-Woodway High, for example, last attended on Friday, Jan. 13. The following Monday was the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and Tuesday was an in-service day for teachers, which itself was subsequently cancelled.

So E-W students have had the whole week off. Add in this weekend, and if classes resume on Monday, they will have had nine days in a row.

As a reminder for Friday:

  • All schools and programs are closed for one day.
  • All after-school activities, evening events, and athletic practices are canceled.

Since school days lost for weather closures must be made up, the following is updated information.
