Washington State Ferries Will Pay for Trip to Kingston to Get Your Feedback

Community meeting for those who use Edmonds/Kingston run to be held Dec. 8 at Kingston Community Center.

Washington State Ferries wants feedback from Edmonds residents and is willing to pay for a boat ride to hear it.

WSF announced this week that representatives will visit local communities served by ferries to share important information and get valuable feedback from customers.

The meeting for those who use the Edmonds/Kingston run—or Kingston/Edmonds run if you live on Kitsap Peninsula—will take place Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Kingston Community Center, 11212 State Highway 104, Kingston.

So if you want to hear what they have to say and maybe even provide that feedback, you’ll have to do it in Kingston.

Marta Coursey, director of communications for the Washington State Department of Transportation Ferries Division, explains: “There is not a meeting planned for Edmonds. Generally speaking, we get the greatest attendance on the Kingston side. However, if residents from Edmonds want to attend the meeting in Kingston, we can make arrangements to pay their passenger fare if we are contacted in advance.”

If you want to attend, you can e-mail Coursey or call 206-515-3918.

The meetings will focus on a variety of issues, including new vessels, upcoming terminal construction projects and the governor's Connecting Washington Task Force.

"I'm looking forward to this round of community meetings," said David Moseley, assistant secretary of WSDOT Ferries Division. "The upcoming legislative session will be critical for state transportation. I encourage customers to attend the meetings so we can discuss important issues and concerns."

During the meetings, Assistant Secretary David Moseley will present on state and route-specific issues. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to Moseley and his team. Materials and comment forms will be posted on WSF's community meetings page prior to the first meeting on Nov. 14.

That first meeting is for those who used the Seattle/Bremerton run. It’s in Bremerton.
