Rob Chave Chosen for Development Services' Top Spot

Chave was named City of Edmonds employee of the year for 2011.

Planning manager Rob Chave, , has been named by Mayor Dave Earling as the interim director of Development Services, subject to City Council confirmation.

β€œRob Chave has the background and experience to fill this important position,” said Earling.

Chave is a 20-year veteran of the City with more than 30 years as a practicing professional planner. He completed his undergraduate work at Northwestern University, majoring in geography and experimental social psychology. He went on to graduate studies in urban planning and historic preservation at Cornell University in New York.

Before coming to the City of Edmonds, Chave worked as a senior planner in charge of long-range planning for the City of Auburn from 1986 to 1991. He began his career working for Volusia County, FL, in 1980, where he was a land use planner and chief of long-range planning and information systems.

Chave was born in Hawaii lives in Seattle with his wife of 31 years.
