No Surprise: Marketing, Promotion Top Priorities of Edmonds Chamber Members

Survey presented at City Council meeting. Public safety, parks maintenance and parks acquisition at the bottom of the list.

The marketing and promotion of the city are the top priorities of members of the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, according to a survey published by the Chamber Advocacy Committee.

The priority was picked by 84 percent of members. Other top priorities include promoting tourism, including sports tourism; a "buy local" campaign; and increased effors to recruit new business.

The Commerce Advocacy Committee reported the findings to the Edmonds City Council on Oct. 18 in an effort to to help in the city-wide strategic planning process.

The survey included 17 questions about members’ priorities for changes or improvements in the city. 

The lowest priorities? Public safety, parks maintenance and parks acquisition.

The Chamber Advocacy Committee was created this year to represent the interests of the chamber and its members through communication with City Council and city government by identifying issues relevant to the economic vitality of Edmonds. The goal is to then develop a position and advocate for it.
