Edmonds Mayor's First Council Meeting Preceded by Closed-Door Session

Mayor and Councilmembers will discuss labor negotiations. During the regular meeting, Earling will hear about the controversial Five Corners roundabout.

During the end of Edmonds Mayor Mike Cooper's 16-month term of office, there were —closed meetings not open to the public—regarding lawsuits and, as it turns out, .

On Tuesday, new Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling, , will have his first executive session before even getting around to heading his first council meeting.

The session will center on labor negotiations, and there no plans for it to be discussed during the regular City Council meeting beginning at 7 p.m.

Among other items on Tuesday's agenda:

  • Authorization  for Mayor to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Parametrix for design services with respect to the Main Street Decorative Lighting and Sidewalk Enhancements Project.
  • Public hearing on a proposed Code amendment to ECDC 20.40.030 and ECDC 17.40.020 adding limited exceptions from building height limits for (1) certain solar energy installations and (2) replacement of existing rooftop equipment with energy efficient upgrades.
  • Discussion on five projects related to the Capital Facilities Plan Element update (2012-2017) to the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Capital: Improvement Program: , Ninth Avenue transportation improvements, traffic calming program, Fourth Avenue Cultural Corridor and Public Market.
