Carolyn LaFave is going from promoting the city of Edmonds to finding out what it’s like on the inside.

Mayor Dave Earling announced on Monday that he’s selected LaFave, public relations and marketing manager for the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, as his executive assistant. She will begin her duties on Dec. 27.

The City of Edmonds received 127 applications for the position. Based on the minimum qualifications and the preferred skills criteria, the list was narrowed to 25. Finally, Earling interviewed six applicants.
