Running in Motion Closing on Main Street
Owner Frank Yamamoto says he wants to concentrate on his City Council position. He is sworn in on Tuesday.
Frank Yamamoto, who will be sworn in as an Edmonds City Councilmember on Tuesday, announced today that he is closing his Running in Motion store on the corner of Main Street and Fourth Avenue North.
"I have decided to retire and close my store," said Yamamoto, who is 65. "I want to concentrate on the council job as there is much to learn. Anyway, you never know, I might start another business after I get a better feel of the council expectations."
Yamamoto says he plans to close within the next week and will throw a party at the store to thank customers and friends he has made over the past six years.

"Everyone who has shopped the store and everyone I have met is invited," he said. "We will have some wine and cheese and happy hugs."
