What is the primary reason you are running for this office?
The Edmonds School District was in need of someone to help represent the district in these difficult times and I feel that I could make a difference.
What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?
- Work with the school district to get a viable budget for 2013
- Pass the February 2012 levy
- Work with the district to replace The No Child Left Behind proficiency standards
What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?
My background in a variety of education settings (chairman of nonprofit child care center, worked 20 years in higher education finance, 10 years volunteering in the Edmonds School District) along with my managerial experience in other fields can add a different perspective in running the school district.
