THIS CAMPAIGN:
What is the primary reason you are running for this office?
Involvement with the community of Edmonds, being part of the process that will maintain Edmonds quality of life while retaining its small town charm and local ownership.
What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?
1. Residents First: Determining what the needs of the community are. Insuring that those needs are met based on initiating the right budget priorities for each.
2. Economic Development: Continue to develop either new revenue streams or improve on those that we have. As our economy continues to falter, we need to be creative and seek those avenues that will help us maintain our quality of life. Residents should help with suggestions and ideas that may have merit and potential. We need revenue to sustain our basic services, we cannot have a no growth and no progress attitude.
3. Collaboration: Working together, communicating and listening are crucial elements in any type of relationship. The citizens, the city staff and city council should all strive for the betterment of the community by putting all personal agendas and special interest issues aside. Working across divides by bringing people together, can help us achieve real results.
What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders?
a. Listening:What are the real needs of the community? How are we going to see those needs are met. If we can keep communications open, have constant dialogue not only with those that voice their opinion at the meetings, but go out to the neighborhoods and talk to people.
b. Decision making: We should not be afraid to make decisions, but make them. Do not worry about making the perfect decision. Time is money and wasting time cost everyone.
c. Common sense business practice: Bring common sense business practice in running the city, prioritize citizens needs, taking care of those needs with the revenue we have. Being fiscally responsible with those funds, spending only what we have.
How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election?
$6,500
