Edmonds Scenes Spotlighted in Library Exhibit

Local resident Bob Sears is featured in a show sponsored by the Edmonds Arts Commission.

A new exhibit at the features the photography of Bob Sears, who has captured many images of Edmonds.

Sears says he enjoys taking picturess of Edmonds because of its mix of historic buildings, vibrant downtown and location with magnificent views of Puget Sound. The photos in the exhibit were taken with either his Nikon D200 or D300. He prints his own work on an Epson printer.

Sears, who moved to Seattle in 1998 and now lives in Edmonds, is drawn to photography that incorporates the human element and admires the work of documentary photographers such as Eugene Atget, Walker Evans and Dorothea Lange.

Sears grew up in Pacific Palisades, CA, and attended the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design. He was a senior art director at a major ad agency in Chicago and had the opportunity to work with the finest commercial photographers in New York, LA, and Chicago.

The photo exhibit is presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission and can be seen through Jan. 30.
