Edmonds Woman Receives High Honor From White House
Maria Montalvo is executive director of Our Families for Families First Foundation.
Maria Montalvo of Edmonds was at the White House on April 11 to receive an award as executive director of Our Family for Families First Foundation.
The foundation, which provides scholarships and grants to children and spouses of active-duty military members, was recognized recently by the White House's Joining Forces Community Challenge as a Top 20 finalist and the People's Choice Award Winner.
Leaders including First Lady Michelle Obama were on hand to "recognize citizens and organizations with a demonstrated, genuine, and deep desire to be of service to military families."

Montalvo also serves as vice president of the Greater Edmonds Chamber Foundation.
