Edmonds Mayor to Advocate for Edmonds and Other Cities

Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling will join the Association of Washington Cities Legislative Committee.

The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) President, Craig George, has appointed Mayor Dave Earling to the AWC Legislative Committee and its Infrastructure and Economic Development sub- committee.

Founded in 1933, the AWC is a private, non-profit, non-partisan corporation that represents Washington's cities and towns before the state legislature, the state executive branch and with regulatory agencies. The Legislative Committee works to identify and advocate for important issues that are relevant to cities throughout the state of Washington.

In 2013, the AWC focused on three core themes in the legislative session:

  • Ensure fiscal sustainability and flexibility
  • Foster and invest in economic development and infrastructure
  • Enhance service provision

“I am pleased to serve on this important committee to advance the needs of Edmonds, as well as help the Legislature understand the priorities needed to have healthy communities across the state,” Earling said in a news release.

The Mayor’s appointment will begin immediately.
