The City of Edmonds is moving forward with its plan to offer concession services at eight public parks.

The Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department is seeking seasonal concession contractors to provide food, beverage and recreational user services from May through September.

Applications will be taken through 4:30 p.m. on March 30.

The addition of concessions stand was proposed by Edmonds Parks and Recreation director Carrie Hite as a way to bring added revenue to the City. Concessionaires will give the City at least 10 percent of their earnings.

The City Council approved a municipal code changes to simplify rules for providing concessions in parks in January.

The concession locations are City Park, Brackett's Landing North, Brackett's Landing South, Olympic Beach Park, Marina Beach Park, SR 104 Mini-Park (at ferry holding lanes), Yost Park and Frances Anderson Center.

Some sites will have more than one concession in place.
