Diane: Great point. BTW, Safeway already has its liquor out, but under wraps.

Maybe our candidates for Washington State Governor can discuss ways for cities to recoup the tax revenues that will be lost. Will our state representatives offer legislation for the next legislative session addressing the loss of revenue to cities?

I just finished speaking with the manager of the Westgate liquor store and they are closing next week just for two weeks and then will be re-opening under new management. She indicated that most likely the current employees will continue to work there.

Thanks for the update, Linda. I believe a gentleman from Tumwater purchased the store for about $150,000 back in April. Good news on the employees - they are the best! (Not that I go in there much.)

As for recouping tax money, I would propose there is probably at least $211K in waste that could be found.
