Edmonds Economic Development Commission Has Openings

Members work with Edmonds' Planning Board.

The City Council is seeking applicants interested in serving on the City of Edmonds Economic Development Commission. The purpose of the commission is to address specific issues related to economic development.

It's responsible for helping identify new sources of revenue as a direct result of economic development projects; gaining new strategies for economic development; and helping to provide recommendations regarding strategies for economic development and other matters that will improve commercial viability, tourist development and activity for consideration by the Edmonds City Council.

In addition to its other duties, the commission will work in conjunction with the Planning Board to review and consider economic development strategies.Β  Meetings of the commission are held on the third Wednesday evening of each month.

Commissioner terms are staggered, and terms of members on the commission as of Dec. 31, 2011, will expire on Dec. 31, 2012. Terms of new members appointed in 2012 expire on Dec. 31, 2014, while terms of members appointed in 2013 or later will expire on Dec. 31, 2015.

Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on June 1.
