Edmonds Chamber of Commerce to Sponsor Candidate Forums

On tap: Mayor, city council, school board and hospital board.

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee has scheduled two candidate forums in advance of the Nov. 8 general election.

The first will be held Sept. 26 in City Council Chambers, 250 Fifth Ave N. This forum will include Public Hospital District #2 and Edmonds School Board candidates.

The second forum will be held Oct. 3 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. It will include mayoral and Edmonds City Council candidates.

The forums will begin with opening statements from , followed by a Q&A session with moderator Chris Keuss, Edmonds resident and Economic Development Committee member. It will end with a closing statement from each candidate.

Questions for the hospital district and school board will focus on issues facing each entity.

Mayoral and city council questions will focus on economic development and current issues facing Edmonds.

For both events, doors open at 6 p.m. and forums begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited to meet and greet the candidates and pick up campaign information 30 to 60 minutes prior to the start of the forum.

The city of Edmonds will broadcast both forums on Comcast government access channel 21 following the events.
