Council Races: Lora Petso Surges Ahead, While D.J. Wilson Gets Closer

Incumbent Diane Buckshnis increases her slim lead over Bob Wilcox.

On Thursday, challenger Darlene Stern saw her lead over incumbent City Councilwoman Lora Petso shrink from 228 to 176 votes.

Stern's lead evaporated Friday.

With the latest results, Petso now has a slim five-vote lead in her effort to maintain her seat on the council. She has 5,574 votes (49.86 percent) to Stern's 5,569 (49.82).

Meanwhile, another incumbent, D.J. Wilson, gained five votes and now trails challenger Joan Bloom by 47 votes. Bloom has 5,688 votes (50.04 percent) while Wilso has 5,641 (49.63 percent).

In the other City Council race that's too close to call, incumbent Diane Buckshnis significantly increased her lead over Bob Wilcox from 30 votes Thursday to 135 votes Friday. She now has 5,917 (50.37 percent) to Wilcox's 5,782 (49.22 percent).
