Community Transit Changes Mean Fewer Options for Commuters to Seattle

The 416 from Edmonds to downtown Seattle, and vice-versa, is being reduced from six trips to four.

Edmonds commuters who take Community Transit's 416 bus to Seattle on weekdays better check the new schedules.

Beginning Monday, the popular route will be cut in the morning and afternoon from six trips to four.

That is one of the 20 percent overall reduction in service that Everett-based Community Transit, which includes Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling as a board member, enacted due to sagging sales tax revenue.Β

The transit agency, which provides bus and vanpool service, last slashed service by 15 percent in June 2010. At that time, the agency eliminated Sunday and holiday service.
