Apply for Solar Energy Grants

Snohomish County PUD plans to pick eight buildings for solar energy projects.

Snohomish County Public Utility District plans to fund eight demonstration solar energy systems.

The PUD wants proposals from local organizations who would like small solar energy systems at their buildings. The buildings must be in Snohomish County. Proposals are due on May 20, and the projects will be completed this summer and fall.

Snohomish County PUD hopes the projects will help promote solar energy to other individuals and businesses.

“We’re excited to help the community learn more about solar energy through small-scale demonstration projects,” said Snohomish County PUD General Manager Steve Klein.

Grant funding for the systems will come from the PUD's Planet Power. Almost 3,000 PUD customers have opted to donate to this green energy program. Planet Power has already funded 10 other solar demonstration systems and helped create green energy curriculum at local schools.
