Allen House on Sunset to Be Added to Edmonds' Register of Historic Places

Historic plaque presentation ceremony is Aug. 29.

Mayor Dave Earling and the Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission announced today that the Allen House is the newest addition to the Edmonds Register of Historic Places.

It will become the 16th such designation in Edmonds, following the and Dr. Palmer house in 2010.

(For a full list of the 15 structures on the Edmonds Register of Historic Places, see the attached PDF file.)

Constructed in 1906, the Allen House is associated with the early pioneer settlement of Edmonds and retains its original Queen Anne free classic architectural integrity.

A ceremony commemorating placement of an historic marker recognizing the Allen House's addition to the Edmonds Register of Historic Places will be held Aug. 29 at 3 p.m.

The Allen House is 310 Sunset Ave.

Speakers will include Earling, as well as members of the Edmonds City Council and Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission.
