Hello, Summer: Olympic Beach Visitor Station Now Open on Weekends

Learn about marine life—which you can touch in the station's onsite tank.

Summer doesn't officially begin until June 20, but now that Memorial Day has come and gone it sure feels like summer has arrived.

The weather may not be cooperating, but the feel of summer is palpable.

Example: Edmonds' Olympic Beach Visitors Center is now open. (The center was previously known as the Beach Ranger Station.)

The center is open from noon to 5 p.m. weekends through the Labor Day weekend. It's staffed by ranger-naturalists and volunteer beach docents during those weekends.

From the City of Edmonds:

Come see the touch tank stocked full of local marine life! Pick up information on local events, or just learn about the animals and plants that populate Edmonds beaches. Marine life touch tank and Puget Sound and Edmonds beach information available.

The Olympic Beach Visitor Station is at 200 Admiral Way in Edmonds, at the base of the fishing pier.
