Wells Fargo Robbery Could Be Related to Ones in Stanwood, Poulsbo

Wednesday's appears to be related to at least two other bank robberies in the north Puget Sound area, says Edmond police Sgt. Mike Blackburn.

On May 24, at about noon, a suspect robbed the Whidbey Island Bank at 26317 72nd Ave. NW in Stanwood.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his 20s with black tape across his nose and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, beige shirt and blue jeans.

The man was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun and left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Then, on June 7 shortly after 2 p.m., Poulsbo police responded to a robbery at Key Bank, 19735 10th Ave. NE. The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s, approximately 5’8” tall, medium build, with short light brown hair.

The suspect was wearing a dirty white “Hurley” brand ball cap, a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. The suspect had black tape over his upper lip and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun.

A suspect matching this description is alleged to have robbed Wells Fargo Bank at 9727 Edmonds Way. Witnesses observed the suspect running west from Wells Fargo Bank across 100th Avenue West and into the parking lot of QFC.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the armed bank robber.
