Snohomish County Fire District 1 announced last week that its Board of Commissioners meetings will now be broadcast live on its website: www.firedistrict1.org.
Regular meetings of the five-member Board of Commissioners begin at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
“We’ve been posting video online following each meeting for more than six months. Going live is the next step in making our government more transparent and accessible to the citizens we serve,” said Fire Chief Ed Widdis.
All board meetings are open to the public and are held at Fire District 1 Administrative Headquarters, 12425 Meridian Ave. S., Everett.
The website maintains an archive of meeting videos, agendas, minutes and packet materials.
Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves nearly 200,000 residents in unincorporated south Snohomish County, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway.
