The owner was able to prove he was the owner of the ashes that belonged to his son, who died several years ago.

The box and its contents were discovered by a guest staying at a Lynnwood hotel in the 4100 block of 196th Street SW. The guest found the box sitting between two vending machines at the hotel. The box was then given to a hotel employee who called 911.

The box not only included the ashes but also a photo of a preschool-age boy that had a name and year written on the back side.
