Update: Amber Alert Canceled

Mother allegedly stabbed husband and took her two children.

Update: 7 a.m., May 4: The Amber Alert has been cancelled, as the two kids have been found.

The Lincoln Navigator used by the suspect to leave the scene of the stabbing has been recovered near 145th St. and 32nd Ave. N.E. The mother, Doreen Starrish, 28, and her two children still have not been found. 

The father who was stabbed in the chest by the mother in critical condition at a local hospital, KOMO-TV is reporting.

The children, both girls, 7-year-old Helen Smith and 3-year-old Alice Smith, were taken by Starrish, who does not have custody of the kids, Sgt. Cindi West told KOMO.

The girls are of Native American descent, according to the Amber Alert. Helen is 4 feet, 4 inches tall weighing about 65 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. No other description was available of Alice. 

Starrish has brown eyes and is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, according to the Amber Alert.

The King County Sheriff’s Office is issuing an Amber Alert for a silver 2000 Lincoln Navigator believed to be driven by a woman who stabbed a man and fled with their two children this morning.

Detectives have identified Doreen Starrish as a suspect in the stabbing that occurred in the 1500 block of NE 190th St around 8:30 a.m. in Shoreline this morning. Detectives said Starrish took her 3- and 7-year-old daughters that had been with their father (the victim) at the time of the stabbing.

If you see Starrish or the vehicle please do not approach. Call 911 immediately.
