Four people escaped with no injuries when their car got stuck on the tracks and was hit by a train in Edmonds.
The car's occupants had been at a wedding reception Saturday night when the 24-year-old Seattle driver, who was unfamiliar with the area, crossed one set of tracks and then turned too soon and got caught on a second set, The Seattle Times reported. They saw an approaching train and got out of the car before it was struck at around 11:30 p.m.
“It could have been so much worse,” Edmonds Police Sgt. Mark Marsh told the newspaper.
The incident happened in the area of Dayton to Main Street along Railroad Avenue, with the car ending up at the Main Street crossing location, according to KING 5.
