Traffic Alert: Driver Takes Out Power Pole on 164th St. SW in Lynnwood

A portion of the road will be closed tonight.

From the Lynnwood PD:

Notification to all Lynnwood drivers:  A portion of 164th Street SW in Lynnwood is completely closed due to a very large power pole across the roadway.

You should stay away from this area.

This portion of 164th St. SW in Lynnwood—between 36th Ave. W and 168th (and 44th Ave. W.) is likely to be closed until after midnight tonight, Dec. 20—while PUD crews deal with the downed pole and power lines.

The driver of a full-size pickup truck ran into the pole just before 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. The driver and his adult male passenger weren’t injured in the collision.

The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old man from Snohomish, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
