This Week at the Fire Department

Here's a rundown of the action this week at Snohomish County Fire District 1.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 299 calls the week of Feb. 3-9:  243 emergency medical aid calls, 21 motor vehicle collisions, 10 fires, 17 automatic fire alarms, seven service calls and one natural gas leak.

 February 3

PEDSTRIAN HIT BY CAR. At 1:10 p.m., a man in his 70s was hit by a car at 7th Ave. N and Caspers St. in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the man to Swedish/Edmonds.

 COLLISION. At 6:46 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a two car collision on northbound I-5 north of 236th St. SW.

February 5

HOUSE FIRE. At 12:55 p.m., firefighters responded to a small fire at a house in the 800 block of Main St. in Edmonds. The residents and their pets safely exited the house and there were no injuries. Firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire in a bedroom. Damage is estimated at $5,000.

 February 9

COLLISION. At 7:31 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a four-car collision on the 128th St. SW on-ramp to southbound I-5.

COLLISION. At 7:53 a.m., one car hit a power pole and went about 20 feet down an embankment, coming to rest on its roof near the intersection of 28th Ave. W and Larch Way north of Brier. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds.

COLLISION. At 9:24 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a collision at 112th St. SW and 4th Ave. W south of Everett.

Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, serving more than 200,000 residents in the unincorporated communities of Silver Firs, Eastmont, Mariner, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake, Mariner, Lake Stickney, Norma Beach, Hilltop, Hilton Lake and Pioneer Trails; the Cities of Brier, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace; and the Town of Woodway.
