Suspect in Sammamish Threat, an E-W Student, Is Emergency Expelled

Suspect may also be tied to incident at Meadowdale.

The 16-year-old suspect in the cyberthreat case in Sammamish has been identified as a student at Edmonds-Woodway.

The student, who has not been named, has been emergency expelled from E-W. The following is a note from E-W principal Miriam Mickelson:

Some of you may be aware that Skyline High School in (Sammamish) received a threat several weeks ago that closed the school. A similar threat occurred in the Edmonds School District last spring at Meadowdale High School. Today, Sammamish Police arrested a 16-year-old on charges of cyberstalking and harassment in connection with the Skyline incident.

The 16-year-old is a former Skyline High student who is currently attending Edmonds-Woodway High School. Because of the charges he faces at this time, he has been emergency expelled.

Sammamish detectives found evidence suggesting that the same suspect was involved with the threat against Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood last spring. The suspect hasn’t been arrested or charged with the Meadowdale incident in Lynnwood.

However, Lynnwood Police Detectives have been in contact with Sammamish Police on this case and will continue to follow-up with them.
