Weekend Fire Destroys Athletic Shed at College Place Middle School

The cause of the weekend fire has not been determined. The school is now accepting donations to help with athletic equipment that was lost.

A fire raced through the athletic shed at College Place Middle School over the weekend, quickly destroying a sight familar to anyone who has or has had kids at the school.

Although many items stored were destroyed, jerseys were not in the structure at the time of the fire, said Dawn Hart, assistant principal at the school.

“We managed to borrow everything else we need in order for our three athletic teams to compete this week,” Hart said. “We appreciate everyone’s willingness to assist."
