Snohomish County Fire District 1 Calls, April 11-24

April 11

VAN FIRE. At 8:51 p.m., firefighters extinguished a van engulfed in flames on SR 525 about two miles southeast of Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. No one was injured.

April 12

COLLISION. At 2:13 p.m., firefighters transported one patient Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision in the 2900 block of 164th St. SW north of Lynnwood.

FALL FROM ROOF. At 3:38 p.m., a man fell off a roof in the 2300 block of Gibson Road south of Everett. He was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center.

April 13

FIRE:  At 6:54 a.m., firefighters extinguished a mobile home fire in the 12200 block of Nels Peter Road in Everett.  Two people and a dog exited safely. Investigators determined the fire started near the furnace. Damage is estimated at $100,000. No one was injured.

April 15

COLLISION:  At 9:59 a.m., a two-car collision was reported at 100th Avenue W and Edmonds Way in Edmonds.  Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

April 16

COLLISION:  At 8:24 a.m., a car crashed into a power pole at 23rd Avenue W and 239th Place SW in the Brier area. The driver was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

April 17

FIRE:  At 8:16 p.m., firefighters extinguished a house fire in the 2100 block of 105th Place SE east of Everett.  The house was unoccupied at the time and no one was injured. The fire caused $50,000 in damage. The cause of the fire is undetermined, but investigators could not rule out discarded cigarettes, candles and intentional causes.

April 18

CAR-PEDESTRIAN COLLISION:  At 3:38 p.m., an 8-year-old boy was struck by a car at 120th St. SE and Meridian Ave. S. south of Everett. Firefighters transported the boy to Harborview Medical Center. 

April 19

COLLISION: At 1:10 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a collision involving a car and a delivery truck in the 24300 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds.

COLLISION: At 2:54 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision in the 12500 block of Highway 99 south of Everett. One patient was transported by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. 

April 21

FIRE:  At 8:17 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire in a condominium in the 7400 block of 212th St. SW in Edmonds. Firefighters and police officers pulled a man from a smoke-filled unit on the first-floor. Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center. Firefighters had the fire under control within 10 minutes. Damage was contained to the unit where the injured man lived. The cause of the fire is undetermined, but investigators could not rule out smoking or combustibles placed close to the stove top.

April 22

FIRE:  At 2:28 p.m., firefighters extinguished a deck fire at a home in the 4500 block of 225th Pl SW in Mountlake Terrace. No one was injured. Damage is estimated at $35,000. Investigators determine the fire started in a flower pot on the deck and most like was caused by spontaneous combustion of peat moss or a discarded cigarette.

FIRE:  At 4:44 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire in a detached garage at a home in the 23300 block of 53rd Ave. W in Mountlake Terrace. No one was injured. The fire caused about $80,000 damage to the garage and its contents. Investigators believe combustible items stored in the garage were ignited by heat from a lawn mower, which had been in use minutes before the fire..

Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves nearly 200,000 residents in unincorporated south Snohomish County, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway.
