Shoreline Police Nab 'Rolex Robber' at Tent City

The 43-year-old man is suspected of stealing the $45,000 watch from a Seattle jewelry store, running away saying, 'See Ya!' He was arrested Wednesday night at the camp on the grounds of the Calvin Presbyterian Church.

Shoreline police arrested a 43-year-old man Wednesday night suspected of robbing a Seattle jewelry store of a $45,000 Rolex watch after finding him at Tent City 3 on the grounds of the Calvin Presbyterian Church.

According to the Seattle Police Department’s “SPD Blotter,” the man is suspected of stealing the watch from the downtown Ben Bridge Jewelers on Jan. 18, saying “See ya!”” as he ran out the door with the watch on his wrist.

Seattle police issued surveillance video and images after the robbery, which led several tips, and ultimately a witness who identified the suspect. The witness said the man had showed him the watch and bragged about stealing it.

Seattle robbery detectives and Shoreline police learned the suspect was staying at Tent City and went there to arrest him on Wednesday. He was not there, but Shoreline found him at the camp and notified Seattle police.

Seattle detectives said the man was combative and so was booked into King County Jail on suspicion of robbery. The investigation continues.

I live in tent city 3, and we are appalled by what happened. Thanks for not judging all of us based on what this idiot did!

Hi Tracy, my husband and i are going to be coming to Tent City 3 soon too, since we have nowhere else to go, if you're willing I would be so grateful to hear a little about what it's like living there if you have a minute do write me, it would put us out of a lot of misery knowing what to expect. I've only heard good things but it's scary losing your home. anya.egr@gmail.com

Tent City should be done away with!! I stayed there and let me tell you! Those people do nothing with there lives. Most of them do drugs and drink! They may have a strict code of contact but it only applies to certain people. If you get into there little click then u do not have to follow the rules. Maybe 2 or 3 people put of the 90 or so work or do something with there lives. The whole orginization is about getting people to feel sorry for them and how much they can free load off the community. I bet you not one single person there has a resume. Tent cities bring in people like this guy the arrressted into middle class hard working neighborhoods where people want to rais there family in a safe healthy enviorment. These people are bum dope alcoholic adicts. Ask SHARE, do they promote employment and housing? No way! They promote staying homeless and free loading off the working class. These people are loosers and need to leave and stop bring these types of people to our neighborhoods!!!!!

All of ayou need to get out and do something with your lives!!! Half of you drink and do drugs and sit around free loading all day off the community. The rest of us have to work. How many of you go out and try to get work. 3% i'd say! Stop bringing your criminals and adicts to our nice neighborhoods.
