Sheriff's Office Needs Help in Hit-and-Run Fatality near Lake Stevens

Did you see victim on South Machias Road?

The victim in yesterday’s fatal hit and run on South Machias Road between Lake Stevens and Snohomish has been identified as 53-year-old Kay Hyde Donohue from Lake Stevens.

Detectives are looking for information from the public to aid their investigation.

Specifically, detectives would like to know more about Donohue’s activities on the evening prior to or morning of the fatal accident.

Also, anyone who may have seen Donohue on South Machias Road early yesterday morning is encouraged to contact detectives.

She was walking northbound on the east side of the roadway wearing a red winter coat and red baseball cap.

Detectives have identified the vehicle that may have been involved in the hit and run, which has been taken into evidence for processing. At this point, no arrests have been made, but detectives expect to recommend charges following further investigation.
