Two minutes after arriving on scene, an Edmonds Police officer located a suspect found a few blocks south of the victim’s home.

The Lynnwood K-9 unit arrived to help, with the department's police dog tracking the burglar’s scent away from the victim’s home. Meanwhile, claiming he was hot, the detained man removed his shirt and placed it down nearby. While the police dog continued sniffing around for a scent, police put the detained man in a police car.

Moments later, the police dog ran to the car containing the likely suspect. The canine cop snatched up the man’s shirt with its teeth from where it had been placed outside the car.

The witness identified the detained suspect as the man seen breaking into the neighbor’s home. After his arrest, police discovered the suspect had several articles stolen from the victim’s home.

The 26-year-old Seattle man was booked into jail on suspicion of residential burglary.
