Police: Edmonds Man Steals Parents' Car, Waves at Officers During Pursuit

A 28-year-old man was taken into custody Saturday after driving erratically in downtown Edmonds and leading police on a short chase.

A 28-year-old Edmonds man was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say he stole his parents' car and led officers on a short pursuit.

The incident began at around 2:45 p.m. when police received reports of an erratic driver along the waterfront near downtown Edmonds who was also getting out of the vehicle and "acting strangely," according to a department news release.

When police spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop the driver, he allegedly led officers on a short pursuit through the downtown area--repeatedly waving at his pursuers as he drove. Police eventually were able to block in the suspect's vehicle and take him into custody.
