Police Investigating Homemade Bomb Explosions at Edmonds-Woodway

Fire Department determines that incendiary devices were bottles filled with a common household chemical.

Crude bombs that exploded today in two garbage cans at Edmonds-Woodway High School caused no injuries or property damage, but the incident is being considered serious enough that the Edmonds Police is asking the public for help into its investigation.

According to E-W principal Michelle Trifunovic, the bombs—whose noise was heard and felt throughout the school, according to several students—were let off at about 11:40 a.m.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 determined that the items were bottles filled with a common household chemical. When sealed, the pressure forced the bottles to explode.
