Man Robs Corner Coffee Bar & Cafe, Assaults Employee

Edmonds Police are asking anyone who was in the Perrinville area early this morning and observed something suspicious to 425-771-0212.

A coffee shop in the Perrinville area of Edmonds was robbed at around 6 a.m. Friday morning when a man entered the business, assaulted an employee and forced her to hand over cash.

The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. at the Corner Coffee Bar & Cafe, located at 76th Avenue West and Olympic View Drive.

After entering the business, the man proceeded to repeatedly strike a 34-year-old female employee in the face, drag her to the back of the cafe, and force her to hand over an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect fled on foot from the back of the business and may have gotten into a vehicle outside the cafe, police said. The victim had injuries to her face and was treated at the scene by medics from Snohomish County Fire District 1.

The suspect is described as approximately 30 years old and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a ski mask, jeans, black hooded sweatshirt and dark shoes that may have been tennis shoes.
